It was bad enough that I put Michael to work (offering to pay him) when he dropped in to say hi. I needed the extra set of hands for x-rays, gathering meds, holding a big dog for intubation, stuff like that.
The not-so-smart dog, a big american bulldog named Mister (a girl dog) ate a rock, about an inch and a half across. Predictably, the rock lodged in Mister's intestines and had to be removed surgically. We didn't decide to go in surgically until after 2am, so the rest of my night became very busy ...
on top of the surgery, we had another big stupid dog in with GI symptoms. The vet wanted to do a barium series. This involves feeding the dog 240ml (about 8oz) of barium (nasty gooey stuff) and taking x-rays at certain time intervals. This was a mess. On top of that the dog was about 70 lbs and less than cooperative.
I won't even get started about the crazy clients who were drinking whiskey in our lobby ...
I don't remember falling asleep this morning. Apparently Charles came by and did laundry. Damned if i noticed. I slept like the dead.
Today is my relax at home day. It's supposed to be my "clean the house" day, but that never goes as it supposed to. Michael and I got a bunch of stuff cleaned on Sunday, I'll do some cleaning of the upstairs tonight, maybe just enough vacuuming to annoy my neighbors.
A container of Drano spilled in the trunk of my car and left a big bleachy stain on a pair of pants. ugh.
I have a huge list of people i need to call, and I have not been awake during the daytime to do it ... Lazy me.
