I think I'll stick with my policy of keeping my mouth shut.
So I worked last night. And I work tonight. It's been insanely busy, and we've had all these projects going on. Last night we took all the cages and supplies out of the isolation room, bleached it out, and put different cages in. There really is no ventilation in there, so it was really fun to try and breathe in the back of the hospital after that.
In the middle of all this, we had patients. Kim and her Bill came in with her cat that had a poorly healing laceration. A big stupid Dalmatian mix came in after eating a vial full of thyroid pills, and had to be made to vomit and force-fed two bottles of liquid charcoal.
I left some of my isolation project for Joe to do, as I didn't get to leave until 2am. He left a message on my cell phone this morning, saying that they had to do a cystotomy after I left and he didn't have a chance to finish it. I called Jamie to see if she'd have time to do it this afternoon, and at 2pm the clinic was still super-busy. So this is good for the clinic, but I'm having a hard time keeping up.
Got paid yesterday ... happy times.
After work, I picked up Michael. We went down to Balboa and walked along the beach for a while. Observed people behaving stupidly. Drove up to my house, where I almost immediately crashed out. Work is making me a dull and exhausted person.
We're just hanging out here until I go to work in a few hours ... computers and music and video games. And laundry.
Apologies to anyone whose phone calls I have not returned lately. Just too busy to pick up the phone, most of the time.
I want to be sure enough of my days off to make plans to do stuff ... but until we get someone hired, it looks like I'm doing 5 random days a week, plus school. Wheeee. I don't think I'll have enough time to spend my paycheck.
