my car needs to be euthanized

goddam my fucking car ...

so the plan today was thus.
- Meet with the doctor.
This went well. I'm going to get the position I want and the authority I want. I may or may not get the money I want. They offered me a $1.00 per hour raise and i had to bite my tongue not to laugh. So i told him (in a very diplomatic way) that they'd have to do better than that, and he's going to get back to me. I hate saying no to a raise, but that's just not good enough, and a bit insulting. I won't be manager for less than $16.00/hr.
- Pick up Michael and caravan to the auto repair place.
This went without complication. The Acura is at Terry's Auto awaiting diagnostics.
- Take Michael from auto place to Goldenwest College for his ASL class.
This is where things started to get fucked up. I'm driving away from the car place, maybe two or three blocks away. I turn on the A/C, and my normally efficient A/C blasts hot air at us. I look down, and the temp gauge has slammed over to the red area, and my coolant light is blinking at me.
So, I turn around and drive back to the car place. The guy looks at it, and determines that it has no coolant in it. I find this odd, since my dad put a gallon of coolant in it two weeks ago. He does some odd tests with this little pressure thing, and determines that it has a crack in the coolant reservoir. At this point, my dad has arrived, as his business is just around the corner from my mechanic. He goes over to the Chevy dealership, purchases the new tank for the coolant, brings it back, and the nice mechanic man installs it, puts coolant in it, tests it, and all seems well and good.
By this time, we are well beyond the window of time in which I could have gotten Michael to his class before it started. I felt terrible about that, I had promised him that I would get him everywhere he needed to be while his car was in the shop. I couldn't even get him where he needed to be right after he dropped off his car.
So he decides he can miss a class, and I introduce him to Quizno's. nummy toasty subs. On to the next step of the day's plan.
- Go by comic book store and see Heather Leather.
I didn't plan on having Michael with me for this step, but i had to adapt my plan as the day went on. I met her extremely annoying co-worker, who is twenty but reminds me of a needy twelve-year-old. We browsed the aisles of comics until she closed the store. Then i helped her with her hair and makeup, and giving up any semblance of my having a clearly laid out plan for the day, we headed off to Fern's, a great little bar in long beach. A dive like none other. Michael leaned on the bar and it tilted. The graffiti in the girls room said "girls kiss better than boys - try it for yourself!" This entertained me greatly.
While getting a bit of cash out of the atm, i found that I have $7 left in my bank account. I don't get paid until monday. this is not happy.
Anyway, we drink ... i drink my usual vodka drink (too lemony), we all have shots of Jager (like rancid cough syrup) and then i start in with pints of a safe and usual beer. I love getting drunk with Heather. The bartender is great ... this chick Renee. When we came in with Heather (Heather is a regular) she's all, "Yay! New friends!" and she called me doll all night. I could hang out at a place like this.
Michael and I went to a little burger place to get dinner, and we got hit up for money by a very poorly done up transvestite. I'm pretty sure it was a man, michael was less sure. She asked us what we were having to eat. I don't like strangers talking to me.
Eventually, we head back to Heather's apartment, and she *demands* that we watch anime. I can't remember the name of what we watched, but it was very entertaining. Evan-something.
I ended up falling asleep on heather's couch (when i'm tired, i just fucking fall asleep wherever i happen to be) and when i woke up, i was groggy, cranky, and annoyed that it was later than i wanted to have left Long Beach. Heather looked at me and said, "Aw, you're so cute all grumpy!"
Michael and I walk back to the car, where I find a puddle of antifreeze underneath it. Not happy. Nothing I can do about it on a side street in a bad neighborhood in Long Beach. So I drive to Costa Mesa, and when I park the car to let Michael out, the light comes on again and the temperature gauge goes back up to red. Badness. I open the hood and look under the car and my minor coolant leak that was supposed to be fixed with the new tank is now gushing coolant onto the ground. Michael, sweetie that he is, got a bucket of water and we put that in the car. It got back to garbage grove alright with that, but right now I'm waiting for my parents to wake up to see what I should do next. This sucks, having both mine and Michael's cars non-functioning.

He and i were both in bad moods tonight ... the afternoon spent in traffic, not much sleep last night for either of us, the car trouble, the stress of plans not going right. We ended up taking it out on each other a bit towards the end of the otherwise much-fun night, and i hate when it goes like that. we talked it out, and all's well that ends well, i guess.

I have a distinct feeling that i'm going to end up back in fullerton tomorrow at the auto place, and i'm not looking forward to it.

i forgot to call the therapist. i'm probably subconsciously putting it off. i should do it tomorrow.
