People give funny looks to me, with my lip ring and bluey hair. People give me even funnier looks when I'm wearing scrubs in a waiting room. And when I, with my face jewelry, blue hair, and scrubs, am knitting in said waiting room, they downright stare.
And then there was the woman who loudly announced to her two bored looking children, "Look! She's knitting! Someday you'll learn to do that!"
I didn't know what to make of that, except that the children seemed to have no interest in it whatsoever.
I did have a conversation with the nurse that took my vitals about it, and I think she may have gone home tonight and dug up her unfinished knitting projects.
anyway, the bloodwork ... my kidneys and liver are okay. my CBC was fine, though I'm always on the low side of normal with the RBCs. My thyroid was normal, so i'm just fat and lazy. My diabetes ... well, i could be under better control. and I knew that.
Dr. Kurtz was telling me that if i don't get my numbers under better control, i'll end up having a stroke. And i was thinking ... the last thing i want is to end up like jill ...
so i've got to start eating a bit better. It's not horrible now, and my kidneys are still fine. He wanted to check my cholesterol, so more poking around for my veins. And I don't know why they had to take six cc's of blood for a cholesterol test - i can do it wit 0.5 cc at work. Grr. And now i have junkie bruises on both arms.
