there's always something to complain about

Every now and then my mother will decide that she wants to be more traditional. Tonight, she wanted to make a big dinner - turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, everything. She goes to the store, spends the afternoon in the kitchen, prepares this big meal. We eat, it's good, it's gone ... and then my mom complains that she spent all day making it and now there's nothing left.

Well, mom, next time lacquer it.

My family wants to name the dog Abby. I hate the name Abby. I hate human names for dogs, and my dog deserves more dignity than that.

I think Michael and I may be going to see Walk the Line tonight, and this makes me happy. Memoirs of a Geisha is coming out in a week, and I will be there.
