Dallas

I wake up this morning afternoon to my mom calling me. "Want some news to cheer you up?" she says. "We might be going to Dallas!"

Dallas - the Fallnationals at the Texas Motorplex, one of the biggest and best races of the year. I haven't been there in years, since I was a kid. It's a 24-hour drive there and back with the truck and trailer - not an easy trip by any means. But hell, I'll be unemployed - not that my parents know that - so I can help drive out there without taking any time off.

We'd be going with Ronnie August to drive our car. Not me, sadly. I'm still working on that. But Ronnie doesn't have the time and parts to get his car out there, and we do - not to mention we could use his help with the tuneup. I want to see this car back at 5.60 seconds, as does the rest of my family. And our car means something I can work on.

It all depends on whether we can get an entry - there aren't any spaces left, but the hope is that not all the cars that have registered are actually going to go. We know of one that probably isn't, and we hope to get their spot.

So yeah. After all this, a trip to Dallas may cheer me up something good. And if we don't go, I'm probably going to the river that weekend. So either way, it's all good.

Oh, and I like this picture from this weekend.

I have fun with my crappy little camera.

Sometimes you have to go 2000 miles to get to the one. So worth it. Posted via LiveJournal app for iPhone.

It's already getting wild out here, and I've completely re-evaluated my definition of "behaving myself". All the fun. Posted via LiveJournal…
